Why we ranked them

Why we chose Janet Lanza Photography

Janet Lanza has spent decades behind the camera in and around Trenton, building a wedding photography practice rooted in genuine connection rather than staged perfection. She got her start shooting medium format film in Manhattan back in the 1980s before transitioning to digital work in the early 2000s, and that film-era eye for composition and light still shows up in her galleries today. Over the past 30 years she has photographed nearly 2,000 weddings across the New York, New Jersey, and Philadelphia region, earning a reputation — and 115 reviews on WeddingWire — as one of Mercer County's most trusted names in wedding photography. Janet describes herself as "a hopeless romantic," and her approach reflects it: rather than working from a rigid shot list, she spends time getting to know each couple so the resulting images feel like an authentic record of their relationship, not a series of posed portraits. Every wedding includes full-day coverage, a second photographer, and a personal assistant on hand to keep the day running smoothly, plus an online gallery and a custom USB of high-resolution files delivered afterward. Beyond weddings, she also photographs engagements, family portraits, and newborns, often working with the same couples again as their families grow. For Trenton-area couples who want a photographer with genuine longevity in the local wedding scene, Janet Lanza's track record speaks for itself.
